Ubercart is distributed as a modular package for Backdrop CMS, a popular and flexible CMS. As such, installing Ubercart requires that you have installed Backdrop CMS The installation process may be broken down into the four steps listed below. With your Backdrop CMS installation running, all you need is to enable Ubercart. In Backdrop CMS, modules are self-contained bits of code that add functionality to Backdrop CMS. Some of the core parts of Backdrop CMS (such as the functionality that maintains a list of users who can login to your site) are implemented through modules. If you find yourself saying "Backdrop CMS is great, but I need it to do...", more often than not, you can find a module on backdropcms.org that does what you need it to.
Modules are easy to install and uninstall in Backdrop CMS. Simply hover your mouse over Functionality on the admin menu bar at the top of the screen and click on "Install new modules". In the search box simply type "ubercart" and click on search, all modules related to Ubercart will be shown. Click on "add to installation queue" for each module you would like to add and when you have finished, scroll to the top of the screen on the right, the modules ready to be installed. Click on "Install" and follow the onscreen instructions.
Ubercart System Requirements
Because Ubercart adds a lot of capability into a default Backdrop CMS installation, you will need more server memory. We recommend setting your PHP memory limit to 128mb or higher. Furthermore, some optional modules that come with Ubercart require cURL or other non-default PHP extensions. While these extensions are usually provided by most web hosts, you should examine the list below and verify that what you need is available on your host.
